Dua on the 22nd night of Ramaḍān
﷽
يَا سَالِخَ ٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱللَّيْلِ فَإِذَا نَحْنُ مُظْلِمُوْنَ
ya salikha alnnahari min allayli fa’idha nahnu mu¨limuna
O He Who draws forth daylight from night, and we are then in the dark,
وَ مُجْرِيَ الشَّمْسِ لِمُسْتَقَرِّهَا بِتَقْدِيْرِكَ يَا عَزِيْزُ يَا عَلِيْمُ
wa mujriya alshshamsi limustaqarriha bitaqdirika ya `azizu ya `alimu
Who causes the sun to run on to a term appointed for it; that is the ordinance of You, O Mighty, O Knowing,
وَ مُقَدِّرَ الْقَمَرِ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّى عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُوْنِ الْقَدِيْمِ
wa muqaddira alqamari manazila hatta `ada kal`urjuni alqadimi
and Who ordained for the moon stages until it becomes again as an old dry palm branch!
يَا نُوْرَ كُلِّ نُوْرٍ
ya nura kulli nurin
O Light of every light!
وَمُنْتَهَىٰ كُلِّ رَغْبَةٍ
wa muntaha kulli raghbatin
O ultimate goal of all desires!
وَوَلِيَّ كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ
wa waliyya kulli ni`matin
O Source of all graces!
يَا اللّٰهُ يَا رَحْمَانُ يَا اللّٰهُ يَا قُدُّوسُ
ya allahu ya rahmanu ya allahu ya quddusu
O Allah! O All-beneficent! O Allah! O Holy!
يَا اَحَدُ يَا وَاحِدُ يَا فَرْدُ
ya ahadu ya wahidu ya fardu
O One and Only! O One! O Single!
يَا اللّٰهُ يَا اللّٰهُ يَا اللّٰهُ
ya allahu ya allahu ya allahu
O Allah! O Allah! O Allah!
لَكَ الْاَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ
laka al-asma’u alhusna
To You are the Most Excellent Names,
وَ الْاَمْثَالُ الْعُلْيَا
wal-amthalu al`ulya
the most elevated examples,
وَٱلْكِبْرِيَاءُ وَٱلآلاَءُ
walkibriya’u wal-ala’u
greatness, and bounties.
اَسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
as’aluka an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
I beseech You to bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَ اَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسْمِي فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ فِي السُّعَدَاءِ
wa an taj`ala ismi fi hadhihi allaylati fi alssu`ada’i
include my name with the list of the happiest ones,
وَ رُوْحِيْ مَعَ الشُّهَدَاءِ
wa ruhi ma`a alshshuhada’i
add my soul to the martyrs,
وَإِحْسَانِي فِي عِلِّيِّيْنَ
wa ihsani fi `illiyyina
record my good deeds in the most exalted rank,
وَإِسَاءَتِي مَغْفُوْرَةً
wa isa’ati maghfuratan
decide my offense to be forgiven,
وَ اَنْ تَهَبَ لِي يَقِيْنًا تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِي
wa an tahaba li yaqinan tubashiru bihi qalbi
grant me certitude that fills in my heart
وَ اِيْمَانًا يُذْهِبُ الشَّكَّ عَنِّي
wa imanan yudhhibu alshshakka `anni
and faith that removes doubt from me,
وَ تُرْضِيَنِي بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي
wa turdiyani bima qasamta li
make me feel satisfied with that which You decide for me,
وَآتِنَا فِي ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً
wa atina fi alddunya hasanatan
grant us reward in this world
وَفِي ٱلآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً
wa fi al-akhirati hasanatan
and reward in the Hereafter,
وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ٱلْحَرِيْقِ
wa qina `adhaba alnnari alhariqi
save us from the torment of the burning Fire,
وَٱرْزُقْنِي فِيْهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشُكْرَكَ وَٱلرَّغْبَةَ إِلَيْكَ
warzuqni fiha dhikraka wa shukraka walrraghbata ilayka
and confer upon us at this night Your mentioning, thanking You, desiring for You,
وَالْإِنَابَةَ وَالتَّوْفِيْقَ لِمَا وَفَّقْتَ لَهُ مُحَمَّدًا وَآلَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ
wal-inabata walttawfiqa lima waffaqta lahu muhammadan wa ala muhammadin `alayhi wa `alayhim alssalamu
turning to You, and success to that to which You led Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, peace be upon him and them.
The Twenty Second Night Prayer: It is recommended to offer an eight unit prayer with any selected Surahs.
The Twenty-Second Day Supplication
﷽
اَللّٰهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي فِيْهِ اَبْوَابَ فَضْلِكَ
allahumma aftah li fihi abwaba fadlika
O Allah; on this day, (please) open before me the doors to Your graces,
وَ اَنْزِلْ عَلَيَّ فِيْهِ بَرَكَاتِكَ
wa anzil `alayya fihi barakatika
And pour down on me Your blessings,
وَ وَفِّقْنِي فِيْهِ لِمُوْجِبَاتِ مَرْضَاتِكَ
wa waffiqny fihi limujibati mardatika
And lead me to things that bring about Your pleasure,
وَ اَسْكِنِّي فِيْهِ بُحْبُوْحَاتِ جَنَّاتِكَ
wa askinny fihi buhbuhati jannatika
And allow me to reside in the spacious places from the gardens of Your Paradise;
يَا مُجِيْبَ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرِّيْنَ
ya mujiba da`wati almudtarrina
